Think you can compartmentalize what’s happening outside of the office and it won’t impact your business results? Think again.
I cannot tell you how many executives come to me to improve their business results - and the thing that actually is holding them back in achieving those results - is them.
But it’s not necessarily the things that they’re doing in their professional life that’s getting in their way - It’s their personal life.
Finances - they have debt, bills not paid and are avoiding the whole conversation
Well-being - let me remind you - well-being could range from cleaning your house to exercising. (when’s the last time you visited the dr. or dentist?)
Relationships - with friends/family/significant other are broken
They aren’t taking vacations or if they do, they work
And so much more.
As humans, we try to compartmentalize these things and we think we’re doing it successfully, but the truth of the matter is, we’re not.
It takes energy to compartmentalize ourselves.
That energy is being pulled away from our teams, peers, clients and overall impact your business results.
When you take action to address what you haven’t cared for, all that energy you’ve been using to avoid it becomes available.
And you can reallocate it to where you intend it to go.
What haven’t you handled?
