The one word that will stop you in your tracks
At the onset of making a goal, there is one word that always presents itself.
How.
How will we achieve that goal.
And as soon as we hit that one word.
We start thinking of all the things that can get in the way of accomplishing our goal.
And if we can’t answer that question at the onset - we move along to changing the goal to something different.
Something that is more predictable.
Something that we know is achievable.
Which leads us to playing it safe.
When we take the how out of the equation it requires us to:
Be open
Lean into the unknown
Leverage others to figure out what actions will be necessary to achieve that goal
Start, take action and if that action doesn’t work, take another action
Collaborate and recalibrate
Come to the table with solutions, not problems
Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
