Most leaders donβt start out intending to be a bad leader.
Did you know.....
Most leaders don’t start out intending to be a bad leader.
Most were promoted into the position not necessarily because they have proven success as a leader.
But rather because of they have proven success in their performance.
Getting the job done.
And when they get that promotion.
They’re excited.
Can’t wait to make a difference.
But then, they start doing what they know to do, the work.
And more often than not, they aren’t given:
Tools and resources π
Structures for success β©
Training on how to lead π
And typically - they don’t go out and find this for themselves.
So they do what they know, focus on the work rather than the people.
And that will likely get them another one or two promotions.
But slowly without focusing on their leadership skills, all that glory will stop.
Their team becomes less and less engaged.
They don’t have a leader showing them
π The ultimate vision of where the team is going
π€¦πΌβοΈ The whys behind that vision
π How each team member plays a part in achieving that vision

And one by one, that team will disappear.
