Not that long ago I started with a new client.
 
During each call he showed up the same:
 
He reported on:
 
What actions he took during the week (or didn’t)
What challenges that he had experienced
 
And where he wanted to focus during our call.
 
In the same:
 
Structured voice.
Speech pattern.
Enthusiasm.
 
Until we started talking about a friend of his.
 
Suddenly everything changed.
 
He lit up
He became excited.
Full of personality.
 
And
 
Full of joy.
 
And my experience during that time completely shifted.
 
His excitement brought me excitement.
His lightness brought me lightness.
His joy brought me joy.
His laughter brought me laughter.
 
So often we show up as we think we’re “supposed” to show up a certain way at work.
 
When in all reality when we show up as our authentic self, we can completely shift the entire experience.
 
Not only that we’re having, but our team is having, our clients our having, our business is having.
 
And when we shift that experience, we can produce results.
 
Because that someone, that people want to follow.
