Hiring remains the number one challenge organizations are facing
Hiring remains the number one challenge organizations are facing.
Not only does it continue to drive the headlines, I’m also hearing it from every one of my clients.
In today’s hiring market there are a gazillion AI tools that are searching for the buzz or keywords in a resume to match the candidates to the job.
Sounds great right?
Yes and no.
Yes, it’s efficient.
Yes, it reduces overhead
And
No.
If the candidate isn’t savvy enough to have those special words, they may never be found.
Or if they don’t meet all the skills listed on the requirements, they may not apply thinking they have no chance anyways.
Which leads:
Long time to fill
Work being put onto other team members
Timelines being missed
Goals not being met
Clients not being happy
And revenue not being achieved.
What I’ve found is that the most successful organizations are not relying on AI alone.
They also aren’t posting and praying for candidates to apply.
They are utilizing AI AND all the talent already within their organizations to find the candidates they need.
They also are:
Looking at people whom they may not have previously considered - getting crystal clear on what someone needs to have vs. what’s nice to have
Creating systems, processes, and training to hire candidates that may not possess all the skills they require
Proactively reaching out to retirees
Asking their teams for referrals
Leveraging their network
The ability to do all these things comes from creating a culture of teamwork, flexibility, creativity, willingness to help, openness and working towards a common vision.
What culture have you created?
