Give them the full picture. Not just the pretty version. Without that, they’re saying yes to something magical. But it will only be short lived as they will experience the reality.
And then, you’ll find yourself going through the same perpetual cycle of hiring to fill that role. There is nothing more rewarding when someone says “heck yes” knowing the full landscape.
